Singapore two Michelin starred Chef Andre Chiang and award winning mixologist Vijay Mudaliar will be heading to Margaret River Gourmet Escape (MRGE2017) presented by Audi. Chef Andre Chiang’s Restaurant André ranks 14 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. His restaurant ranks number 2 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017. Vijay won the Most Creative Cocktail Bar and Bartender of the Year awards at The Bar Awards Singapore 2017.

This is the first time two Singapore personalities will be showcasing Singapore’s exceptional culinary and cocktail culture to an international audience at the event. Margaret River Gourmet Escape 2017 will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of wine production in Western Australia’s famed South West region.

I get to have a taste of the November festival with at the reception hosted at Native Bar. Australian chef Paul Iskov of Fervor flew in with his assistant to showcase his skills. He is known for using native ingredients in his cooking at unique locations across WA including scenic bushland, pristine beaches, and ancient caves. He will be presenting “The High Life with Paul Iskov ” (a helicopter lunch) at the Margaret River Gourmet Escape 2017.

There was a Q&A session with Chefs Andre, Paul, and Vijay. It was followed by an appetizing lineup of delicious canapes, cocktails, and wine. What a unique experience tasting some of the unusual native ingredients of Australia.

I enjoyed eating the Sandlewood nut crackers. Didn’t know the Sandlewood nuts are so yummy. The Saltbush tastes a little bitter.

It’s my first time tasting kangaroo meat. Love the taste though, it is succulent and tender. Chef Paul seasoned it well.

Margaret River Gourmet Escape 2017

The four-day food, produce and wine extravaganza will be taking place in Western Australia from 16-19 November 2017. Home-grown culinary celebrity, Curtis Stone will join 50 of the world’s leading food and wine personalities, including chefs from the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. World renowned wine critic, Jancis Robinson, OBE, MW (UK) will be in attendance at many events across the weekend.

 

荣获新加坡米其林指南二颗星餐馆的老板兼主厨江振诚 (Andre Chiang)和获奖调酒师 Vijay Mudaliar 将前往西澳玛格丽特河美食节, 代表新加坡参与活动之中。江振诚的餐馆在”世界最好的五十家餐厅”, 排名第十四。

本届的美酒美食节活动从11月16日至19日,节日汇聚50多名国际和澳洲本土的美酒美食大师。食客们可见到他们最喜爱的明星厨师亲自下厨。活动还设置大师烹饪课、品酒会、互动问答、烹饪演示等环节,提供各种与大师互动的机会,丰富食客体验。

这晚我受邀到Native Bar 体验澳洲厨师 Paul Iskov 的开胃小菜与 Vijay 的鸡尾酒。Paul 热衷于食材搜集,崇尚当地自然原生食材的他,为我们打造美味的开胃小菜。不一样的体验,难得吃到的香脆的檀香坚果饼和有点苦涩的炸滨藜。 我第一次尝到袋鼠肉,真好吃!味道和牛肉差不多。慷慨的主办商还准备了鮮甜爽口的澳洲淡水小龍蝦、美味的鲍鱼。
